Art of Origami – Learn How To Make A Butterfly

Let’s make learning fun, today in this blog we shall learn how to make a little origami butterfly.

It’s a traditional origami model that is a good introduction to the art of paper folding popularized by the Japanese. The word origami means “folding paper” (ori means “folding” and kami is “paper” in Japanese).

The origami butterfly has a simple but elegant look. Once you learn how to make one, you won’t want to stop! An entire group of paper butterflies makes a wonderful wall decoration.

You can also use them to embellish handmade cards, scrapbooks, and even as the finishing touch on gift wrapping. Follow the easy 7 step process:

• Step 1: For this you can use the range of Fluorescent Papers from Veda, cut them in square, Approximately 8X8 or a 10X10
• Step 2: Take a square sheet of origami paper and fold the paper in half to create a ‘+’ pattern.
• Step 3: Now fold the paper along the diagonals to create an ‘X’ pattern.

The word origami means “folding paper” (ori means “folding” and kami is “paper” in Japanese).

• Step 4: Collapse the paper to create a triangle.
• Step 5: Now fold the bottom layers of one side of the triangle to meet at the top centre towards the crease.
• Step 6: Turn the paper and fold the tip of the triangle toward the top so that the tip sticks out and flatten the paper.
• Step 7: Turn over and create a crease toward the centre of the butterfly to create a crease and make it more realistic.

The butterfly is ready.
